26 April 2024 General Transport Strike

A national transport strike has been announced for Thursday 26 April. This shutdown will last four hours and will affect multiple Italian cities. Since it is a nationwide mobilization, the greatest disruption will occur in the large cities. Each region will have different guaranteed methods and time slots.

A strike by public transport workers for vehicles managed by Eav and Anm is also planned in Naples. For Eav, trips will be interrupted from 18.00 pm to 22.00 pm, with the continuity of the service depending on the participation of workers in the strike, as indicated on the official website.

For Anm, the national shutdown will take the form of a 4-hour suspension, from 11.00 to 15.00. During these hours, the journeys will be interrupted, but in compliance with the guarantee periods communicated. Specifically for the funiculars (Centrale, Montesanto and Mergellina), the last guaranteed ride in the morning will be at 10.50, with resumption of service scheduled for the first afternoon ride at 15.20.

As regards Metro Line 1, the last morning departure from Piscinola and Garibaldi is set at 10.20am, with service resuming at 15.50pm from Piscinola and 16.30pm from Garibaldi. The surface lines will observe the stop until 15.00 pm, with the last departures organized approximately 30 minutes before the start of the strike and the resumption 30 minutes after its conclusion.
