The Codacons Cilento campaign for the protection of the collective lands of the municipalities included in the National Park area begins.
«It is necessary and urgent to proceed with investigations of civic property and possible recovery of land for civic use occupied by private individuals. In these days we will send a request to the regional councilor for agriculture of the Campania Region, to the Park Authority and to the Superintendency to find out, within their competence, the current situation of lands for civic use and their extension within the municipalities of the Park – declares the lawyer. Bartolomeo Lanzara, president of Codacons Cilento – Civic land represents an important development resource that is not fully utilized, so we will ask the region what civic land development plans are in place and what measures have been taken against municipalities that ignore untitled occupations. In summary, what administrative or judicial procedures have been initiated for the recovery and defense of these lands. Our goal is to create the right attention towards the legality and correct management of collective rights in defense of a heritage that affects thousands of hectares of coasts, woods, pastures, agricultural land where municipalities must do their part to guarantee rights citizens' collectives and environmental protection".
« In the coming months we will promote meetings and debates in the area because the regulatory framework is very complex – underlines Lanzara – for a long time, especially along the coastal strip, attempts have been made to untangle the tangle of civic uses with poor results. In order to delve deeper into the matter from a legal point of view, I asked the Lawyer Domenicantonio D'Alessandro, president of the Bar Association of Vallo della Lucania, to establish a permanent observatory within the order, made up of expert lawyers and to organize periodic meetings on the matter".
