Israel is bringing forward the much-feared attack on Rafah, considered the last Hamas stronghold in southern Gaza, where it is believed hostages may be held and where over a million fleeing Palestinians are taking refuge. The Israeli army has amassed a massive amount of tanks and armored vehicles along the southern border with Gaza, at the Kerem Shalom crossing, near Rafah, according to journalists on site.
This military action had been anticipated already on Thursday afternoon, when the IDF (the Israeli Defense Forces) communicated to the government that they had completed preparations for an entry into Rafah, underlining that the final decision on the date of the attack it would be taken by the war cabinet.
