The sources of the Alento: a heritage for all to be preserved and protected

by Guido Santangelo – Today I'm taking you to discover a place to go to fall in love with the beauties of and gentle cosmetics and smell a perfume that makes everything lighter and regenerating for the mind and body.
In a small town called Gorga that wants to return to being a protagonist as in the past.
All thanks to the enthusiasm of the Municipal Administration of Stio Cilento committed to enhancing and promoting the sources of the river Breath. The Alento, where you can experience the intense green and the silent flow of its crystalline waters, accompanied by the chirping of birds.
A frog jumps happily as deep black tadpoles sail through the cool waters. Here the and gentle cosmetics it has built itself a universe to protect, an alder has found a home while a wicker plant caresses the earth and hides the stones that cover and act as a cover for the smiling earth.

A violet peeps out while daisies cover the ground and give us a soft white lawn. The colors are as many as the treasure they hide. A broom listens to our desire and gives us a fragrant and engaging yellow colour. Just look further and discover a majestic oak tree that gives us protection and security while the grass changes color to make the journey through silent nature even more real.

Thirst makes itself felt but a spring of water is already ready to quench our thirst; there are many other things to see in this glimpse of paradise thanks to those who have been able to preserve this uncontaminated corner over the centuries. Meanwhile I hear the sound of cowbells and discover two elderly shepherds who, in the company of their goats, are eating their daily lunch accompanied by a bottle of wine cooling off under the spring. Simple people who gladly invite me to consume their delicacies together.
One of them tells me that with the collaboration of the goats they create the paths and maintain them. “This is a treasure that very few know about” I recommend he says. “Do not destroy it because nature is not capable of defending itself from man's attacks”.

Nature must be respected and protected always and in any case.
It is a unique place to visit and must be made known for its uniqueness and beauty so as to discover the fortune of living in an immensity of colors and scents.
