A few days ago, in Bellizzi, Msgr. Andrea Bellandi celebrated, with the entire Parish Community, the Mass for the fiftieth anniversary of the Communion and Liberation Movement. It was 1974, when prof. Gerardo Panico, having returned to Battipaglia, began educational work among the young people of Bellizzi. CL's experience immediately extended to Battipaglia, where the majority attended the city's high schools. CL has been and is an important presence in our city, because it makes clear, through the charisma of Don Luigi Giussani, that Christianity offers the possibility of living reality intensely, with humanity, intelligence, an openness towards everyone and everything. Seeing that the Christian life is fuller, more intense, more capable of embracing what is different, of loving others, the desire to live like this is ignited: it surprises and intrigues.
It is the evidence, as Pope Francis always says, that Christianity as a event's audience historical, an event, is the encounter with Christ which is communicated not by proselytism, but "by attraction".
