Work has started on the alternative road system to the level crossing at the Paestum railway station. The current scenario is strongly conditioned by the physical separation of the territory operated by the railway route and the absence of connection between the main aggregation centers of the coast road and the Archaeological Park. The implementation will bring multiple benefits, including:
- direct reaching of the archaeological area of Paestum by the vehicular flow coming from state road 18;
- reconnection of residents both in the capital and on the road section between via Ponte Marmoreo and via Capaccio Paestum;
- significantly decongest the traffic flow in Capaccio Scalo and Santa Venere;
- assignment to the archaeological area of Paestum of a greater tourist value given by the infrastructural equipment that will allow users to reach the station, the car parks, the archaeological area and the other associated services.
