Recently, a major enforcement operation revealed serious environmental violations committed by the owner of a buffalo farm. He illegally disposed of livestock waste within the company site and in the neighboring irrigation canals, causing considerable pollution, aggravated by the illicit disposal of whey.
The investigations, supported by the use of fluorescein, demonstrated that the sewage, through a system of underground pipes and wells, ended up in the land and canals owned by the company.
The operation, which began at dawn, revealed that the entrepreneur was illegally disposing not only sewage, but also other waste such as wood, plastic, unsorted waste and used tires on his land.
During the checks, the carabinieri and technicians of the AK Guards Unit discovered that the company also illegally discharged water from the yards, which had no treatment systems.
At the end of the inspections, the necessary documentation for waste disposal was checked, noting that the owner did not possess any regulatory documents.
Consequently, the military seized part of the company center, implicated in the illicit disposal of hazardous and non-hazardous special waste, and reported the owner for the illicit management of waste and for the absence of documentation proving the legal disposal of such waste in recent years. .
