Let's find out who this ancient people were

Troezen (in Greek Τροιζήν) was an ancient Greek city in eastern Argolis. It was the transit point between the Dorian and Attic populations.

TREZENA ACCORDING TO WIKIPEDIA

According to legend, the city was first called Orea, from the name of King Oro, and later Altepia, from the name of King Altepio, son of Poseidon and Leda, daughter of Oro. Poseidon and Athena disputed its possession. Through the intervention of Zeus they made peace and both obtained protection over the city (a trident and the head of Athena symbolically appear on ancient coins). Altepius was succeeded by Sarone, who built a temple dedicated to Artemis near the sea in a marshy plain called Psifea. After his death the city changed its name to Saronia. Other kings of Troezen were Hypere and Anta, brothers who founded Iperea and Antaea respectively. Aetius, son of Ipere, inherited the kingdom of his father and uncle and founded Poseidoniada. During his reign, Troezen and Pitteus, sons of Pelops, settled in the region and shared power with Aetius. They later eliminated the ancient dynasty and founded that of the Pelopids. After the death of his brother, Pitteus unified the pre-existing cities of Hyperea in Antea, giving it the name of Troezen. Two Attic demes took their names from two sons of Troezen: Anaphlistus and Hesphetus. Aethra, daughter of Pittheus, slept the same night with Aegeus and Poseidon, conceiving Theseus… (wikipedia)
