The quality of the water in the surrounding area Salerno and its province has been classified as excellent, reaching the highest level according to the criteria of Arpac, the Regional Agency for Environmental Protection in Campania. This excellent result takes on particular importance in view of the upcoming summer season. It is also relevant to consider that coastal areas currently marked as insufficient have the opportunity to improve their assessment with future analyses. These situations of insufficiency, in some cases, are attributable to temporary factors.
From the analysis of the data provided by Arpac it emerges that the coastal stretch of Cilento is the one that shines for its excellence, without showing any weak point. This area, which extends from Paestum up to Sapri, Via Agropoli, has received the highest ratings for the quality of its waters.
Water quality near the city of Salerno also brings good news, with only two points out of eight below the desired standards. These are located east of the Irno river and in the free bathing area between the Fuorni and the Picentino, suggesting limited room for improvement compared to the broad excellence recorded in the province.
